Our year in monthly photos and wishing all my followers all the very best for 2016 and the coming holidays.

We will be away in a few days time to celebrate Christmas in England with my father-in-law. Computers will be staying at home; only the Nexus tablet will be with us for emailing and maybe the odd single photo on the photodiary.  I find  that blogging on this tablet is beyond me, so I hope to resume when back at home early in the New Year!

A few of my favourite photos from September.

My apologies, but La Rochelle part 2 will follow soon!  I have just realised that I have not edited many of the photos I took then and time is not on my side at the moment!  So much fruit and vegetables in the garden which need bottling etc, that my blogs are taking second place to the kitchen, I am afraid. I will get back to normal eventually! These photos have been on my photo blog, but I know that many of you do not follow it.  I hope that you enjoy them!
La Rochefoucauld chateau

and its reflection in the Tardoire river!

A hover-fly  and  a bee on the garlic chives.

Autumn is arriving!

The last of this year's roses.

Sunset.

Green woodpecker.

Peacock butterfly.

An autumn Marigold brightens the day!

Mr Sparrow paddling and shouting it to the world, it seems.

Rainbow

Last but not least, we have had a lot of green lizards around this year.

I will catch up on all your blogs eventually; I promise!

Photos around the garden or close by.

I have blogger's block AGAIN, mainly due to the rubbish weather we have been having for weeks and weeks!  We have no desire to go out unless necessary, which has therefore restricted our travels! So here are some favourite photos which have featured on my photodiary over the past month, in no particular order.  Certainly many signs of Spring are around, but it has yet to feel like it!!

Cowslips are everywhere

My kitchen orchids have been flowering for ages!

Great tit enjoying a sunflower seed.

Dandelion "clock"

Hyacinth

No, I got here first!

Greenfinch

This looks like a good place for a rest!

and another greenfinch

Now what do you think is going on over there?

An elusive sparrow; they seem to vanish the moment the camera appears.

Landscape on a daylight moon.

Forsythia

Flowering cherry

Chaffinch

Goldfinch

Mirabelle plum flowers have just opened.

The only warm day we seem to have had so far woke up a few of our common lizards.

Loved this rainbow!!

If only I could paint this; perhaps I should try!
