Chocolaterie - La Rochefoucauld

Yesterday Mary, my visitor, and I visited La Rochefoucauld and discovered this local chocolaterie - every small French town worth its salt chocolate (!) seems to have one!  I thought it would be fun to tickle all your taste buds with the following photos :-)
Where it all happens.

Sorry, the top three are china, but they are soooooo cute.

Yum Yum!!

I should be be back to normal, whatever that is, later next week and I will try to catch up with visiting you all.  I will then be looking forward to Nigel's arrival in mid July.

  1. Hello Diane:
This all looks so very goodly. Why is it that sweet shops on the Continent always appear so very alluring whilst those in the UK, with the occasional exception, look rather unappealing?

Have a lovely and relaxed weekend.

  2. Jane & Lance this shop, even the smell just makes ones mouth water...... Not much relaxing, lots of visiting to get done over the weekend before Mary leaves next Tuesday. Diane

  6. Oh yummy! Was in the middle of a very sensible type of lunch, and then I came onto your blog and subsequently went off finishing the last of the cabbage on my plate as my mouth started watering! I don't always have the time to make a comment, but I always read your blog and have missed doing so recently.
Now I wonder if I have stashed a bar of choccie somewhere in my kitchen and away from the sharp eyes of Lester, who can never find his socks but will always find my choccie no matter where I have stashed it!

  27. When we take pupils to northern France we take them to a chocolaterie and every year I buy too much. I always think that the chocolates taste better where you can also smell the melted chocolate.

Sadly all we have in is some 'fathers day' friut and nut (Tim's favourite) so that will have to do!!

  36. This chocolaterie looks so yum – I miss the French chocolate here as the US chocolate is mostly made with milk, more sugar and no alcohol flavoring.

I have a question – I saw on another blog that an Englishman had left England years ago to live in a French village. I also was told that there are many villages in France with a high English people population. My question – is it the same in England ? I mean are there many villages in England where there is a large French people population? Which ones? I’d love to visit them as I have not heard of any. If not, then I wonder why not and why so many English people in France? I have not read about the reason anywhere.

It makes me feel like liking the screen! That's my weak spot! Do I love chocolate! :)
It reminds me of the Suchard factory in Switzerland I visited when I was in boarding-school!
I hope all is well for you!
Since it is warm and I feel lazy, I am preparing my next articles! LOL!
    Keep well, cheers!

  48. We have a chocolate company that began by a lady whose name was "Ester Price." She began making chocolate in her kitchen and it became so popular that it was sold to a company who continues her original recipes. And it is larger now but is still only sold in this area of Ohio.

Your photographs are wonderful to look at.

My favorites are caramels covered in their rich chocolate.

  57. What a nice trip...a joy to the eyes and a treat for the mouth! When I was young I lived on Mackinac Island where they have a chocolate or fudge shop on every corner. We could watch them make the chocolates and the whole town smelled so sweet...well except for the horses (no cars allowed on the island just horses and bicycles). :D
