In Front of a Few More Closed Doors!

How I wish I could see behind closed doors; I get more and more curious!!!  All of these doors were seen around La Rochefoucauld.

At least I got a look in at the hairdresser next door here!

Today I had yet another big surprise. I am once more a winner, so this must have been my lucky week.  I am now living in hope that a  third win may pop up and that will be the lottery!  LOL wishful thinking!  I am delighted though with this win  from Quay Po Cooks and I am now the very happy owner of earrings and a bangle.  I will take photos and show you all when they arrive.
Please take time out to visit Quay Po Cooks,, they have an excellent cookery blog which has many varied recipes from Western to Oriental.  In her own words "Before I was married to my "Quaylo" (Guaylo) husband, I did not know how to bake or cook. Subsequently I learned some baking and cooking Western cuisine from him, and providing his food for him launched an interest in cooking in general."

  5. What is it about beautiful doors. I love them as well and find myself waiting outside them on the off-chance that somebody will come out and I can catch a glimpse of what is beyond. Sometimes, if they're slightly open, I'll even give them a push so I can check it out. Often what is waiting on the other side is not nearly as wonderful as the door itself! I too checked out the link. It looks wonderful...I'm going to try her lemon curd this weekend.

  7. How nice to win again. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the rule of threes actually had a lottery in store for you :-). I love the old doors and it appears that one of them has an entry for animals in it's bottom right side. Too, too funny. Have a wonderful day, Diane. Blessings...Mary

  8. You are having a run of good luck !! Well done !!

I love doors and windows too. They fascinate me - I always want to know what is inside. Often when you do get a glimpse it is such a surprise - either far more opulent or much more impoverished than you expect.

  9. Anne if only we had a lottery win, but it needs to be at least 5 numbers! I am not greedy much as I would be happy with 6 figures LOL. Take care. Diane xx

  28. I'll take door #36.

I certainly can appreciate a good door but am not particularly curious about what's on the other side. However, if I can see another road from the one I'm on, I want to be there.

Congrats on your win. Good luck with the lottery.

  29. Those are some lovely doors. I just moved into a new place, with lovely, 1920's glass knobs on all the doors (even the closets) so I'm quite interested in doors at the moment.
    And congrats on winning!

  31. Linda I have to say I am amazed that I have won two things within a week of each other. Sadly the lottery this weekend did not live up to expectations :( Maybe next weekend! My mother could sit for hours and watch people and she used to come up with some fantastic stories with her vivid imagination! Diane

  32. Dolly I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to my return :)))) It will take me a while to sort the house and the garden out and then I can get out on my bike with the camera. I also have to get the phone and the internet reconnected. Take care. Diane

  34. michelangelo the two things that fascinate me are doors and wells, some of the latter look so well looked after, while others so derelict.
We saw masses of snowdrops yesterday by the sides of the road and several crocuses as well. As you say it is like a breath of fresh air. Diane

  35. Gaelyn I agree #36 is the best of these doors. I am just an inquisitive person and I also always want to try out little lanes and small roads that look as if they may be of interest. Always a problem on the bike though, once I have done several miles down them only to find I have to return back from where I came from!!! Diane

    ReplyDelete
  64. Mrs M you are right each region has its own style and oh how I want to peek in!! I still do not know why there are no shutters in the UK. If we planned on staying here I would have put shutters on our windows. :) Diane
